Local Granbury, TX resident volunteers, along with a few professional musicians and actors, presented a musical play at the Granbury High School Auditorium in 1985 to honor the upcoming Texas Sesquicentennial and also to tell the story of the early settlement of Hood County and the founding of the City of Granbury. Locals Ruth Smith and Doris Luton were close friends, both very talented in a number of fields, and they collaborated to create this unique production, Ruth writing the music and Doris the play.
The home video recording of the play is not high quality, but the enthusiasm and talent of the cast and singers are very apparent, as well as the overall quality of the production.
