Updates

Dear Friends of The Bridge Street History Center,

As we go through these challenging times of social distancing and in many cases, economic difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic, please know our thoughts and prayers go out for the health and safety of you and your family. As you are probably aware, we’ve been closed for our regular winter break and shuttered unexpectedly during the months of March, April and May due to shelter-at-home guidelines. But we’re excited to announce that we will soon be open for our 2020 season.  Our opening day is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2020. We will be open Saturdays as usual, from 1-5 P.M. Our docents will take extra precautions to make sure the surfaces in the building are sanitized for your peace of mind, hand sanitizer will be available, and
social distancing guidelines will be exercised. We will also follow community guidelines regarding occupancy restrictions. We are disappointed, however, to announce that plans for our upcoming events, including the fall speaker series, the new play about the rebuilding of the Opera House, and the Opera House 45 th year anniversary celebration since its re-building must be
postponed until further restrictions are released. Hopefully we can reschedule those exciting events for 2021. Given this unexpected additional time, we expect our plans for you next year to be even bigger and better.
Please note that we will not be further soliciting dues or corporate sponsorships for 2020. If you have already paid dues for this year, thank you for your generosity and your continuing support. We will resume our regular financial solicitation in 2021. We appreciate and look forward to your continued support and visits to the museum with your friends and family as we celebrate Granbury as the “Town Where Texas History Lives” and “The Best Small Historic Town in America.”

Sincerely,
The Bridge Street History Center
